2017 Rose de Robles
With hints of raspberry and tangerine. Bright red berry fruit and citrus zest flavors echo the aromas. Refreshing and dry, the Rose de Robles is medium-bodied with a balanced acidity that lingers on the tongue.
The 2017 vintage began with above average rainfall as the Paso Robles area began to rebound from drought. The wet start was followed by average temperatures that lasted through June. Higher than average winds during bloom affected fruit set in some areas of Paso Robles. Temperatures became more seasonal throughout October.
We harvest our grapes for Rosé at Robert Hall. We pick in the early hours and destem first thing in the morning. We transfer destemmed grapes to our presses with dry ice and gently roll them throughout the day to extract color from the skins. Once desired color is achieved, we press to tanks specially designed to limit oxygen exposure. At every step of the process, we try to limit oxidation to create a fresh and aromatic wine.
California’s pristine Central Coast is home to Paso Robles – one of the world’s most exciting wine regions. Rolling terrain, varied soils and climate combine to create exquisite growing conditions for exceptional fruit used to make award winning wine. At Robert Hall, we capture the essence of Paso Robles in every bottle.
