2022 Cavern Select GSM

Winemaker Notes:

The Grenache aged in French Oak puncheons (50% new), the Syrah aged in French Oak barrels (60% new), and the Mourvèdre aged in French Oak puncheons (50% new). In the spring of 2020, the wines were racked and blended to create the GSM blend and the wine was returned to French Oak puncheons to age until bottling.

Blend Notes:

The GSM blend originates in France’s Rhône wine region. There are many different interpretations of Rhône blends because they can include up to 19 approved varieties. Some of our favorite GSM blends come from Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas villages larger regional blends called Côtes du Rhône are also good. Rhône varietals have had a long history and thrive in some areas of Paso Robles. As we look back to the days of Pape de Robles, we sought to revive this club beloved blend with a few of the new vineyards we have begun to work with.
