Rich, bold and full-bodied with aromas and flavors of ripe blackberries, baking spice, dried herbs, and black olive. The 2019 shows firm, velvety tannins with balanced acidity and a long fine-grained finish. Pairs well with roasted lamb, wild game, and stuffed portabello mushrooms. Also pairs well with a good cigar.
This wine come from one of the coolest vineyards we have the opportunity to work with. It has extremely gravelly soils and short, low to the ground vines. Typically, Petite Sirah has large tight clusters, the lower vigor nature of the site gives us extremely small berried clusters. The wine made from this vineyard is typically the darkest of the season.
